Lamp Lift

Launched in 1996, LampStore.com has certainly evolved over the years, but we’ve always kept it as a natural extension of walking into our “real” store that’s been open since 1979, with a fabulous selection of lamps spread out before you. And we know that when you want a lamp, you want the lamp right away. And so we only show lamps that are available within a day or two – just like a real store.

And just as people’s tastes change on a daily basis, so does our website. We’ve spent the long, hot summer giving LampStore.com a makeover, and we hope you’ll be pleased with the results. Now it’s set up to make selection easier: you can see all the lamps you might want, but you don't have to see EVERY lamp ever made. For instance, if you want a lamp for a contemporary bedroom, you don’t have to wade through the sea of traditional.

As usual, we still feature top notch photography, instead of simply scanning from manufacturer catalogs, FREE shipping, and our 30+ years of lamp experience. So let us know what you think. We'd love some feedback!

ABC Lamp

Choosing a child's name is easy compared to selecting The Perfect Lamp for the baby's first room. So here's a bit of advice, based on LampStore.com's years of selling nursery lamps. Overhead lighting's all very well and good for general room illumination, but the last thing you want, for a 2am feeding is a suddenly bright room, which is why we suggest a nursery have one, and preferably, two table lamps.

At the least, we recommend a small, sturdy lamp be placed near the changing table. The lamp should be tall enough, so that it spreads just enough light for you to see what you're doing, and placed far enough away so the light won't be shining in Baby's eyes. The lamp doesn't need to be more than an accent light and certainly doesn't need to take more than a 60watt bulb.

Though it's hard to believe while you're in the thick of it, Baby will soon be in a "Big Girl's Bed" and she'll probably want to have some say in her new digs...but that's the topic for another article!
